City Run Mum is a fashion, beauty and lifestyle blog founded by Lisa Lyndsey - a mother, city worker and avid fashion lover. Lisa started her fashion blog to highlight her favourite work fashion finds after returning back to work post maternity leave after having her first child. Her elegant and aspirational style, which mixes high end with high street, quickly gained a loyal following so she decided it was time to brand her side hobby in order to grow her blog in to a business.

The brief

Lisa approached me to create a brand identity which summed up her stylish and elegant fashion style. She wanted a distinct identity and to gain a better understanding of her brand image and how she could use this to promote herself and gain lucrative brand collaborations. At the end of the design process she wanted brand assets which would set her apart from other mum fashion bloggers, social media and blog templates to brand her unique ‘working mum series’ and a media kit to send out to PR agencies and fashion brands.

The outcome

City Run Mum’s logo design combines a fashion style editorial font with a mono line drawing of the London city skyline. Soft watercolour textures are used to portray a feminine and elegant touch. The logo has impact but isn’t too dominating.

We opted for a blue and blush colour palette, giving the brand a soft and graceful backdrop. They are also colours carefully chosen to complement Lisa’s fashion style so that the palette can be seamlessly incorporated in to her Instagram feed.

THE FINAL RESULTS

Below are how all of the brand elements come together to create a bespoke and memorable brand identity for City Run Mum. These designs were then used to style Lisa’s blog template in Wordpress and used to create other promotional assets such as postcards (to hand out at events) and a promotional media kit.
